Instead of avoiding just the “bad” junk foods, you will also need to avoid even some healthful foods that may aggravate your gout. Since high levels of uric acid cause gout, it’s important to avoid foods that increase those uric acid levels in the body, foods often called “purine foods.”

Purines are substances found in food, which, when broken down produce a lot of uric acid. A low-purine diet is often prescribed for individuals with Gout.

High consumption of seafood is associated with an increased risk of gout. Specific types of seafood found to be associated with higher levels of uric acid include: anchovies, sardines, roe (fish eggs), herring, mussels, codfish, scallops, trout, and haddock.

Gout is one of the common types of arthritis especially among man of age 40 to 50, is caused by the deposits of excess uric acid in the bloodstream on the joint connections area. You want to avoid foods such as sweetbreads, sardines, smelt, yeast, mussels, herring, and heart.

High uric acid levels associated with gout derive largely from foods rich in protein and purine, which produce uric acid as a waste product when broken down. Reducing such foods will mean less material for uric acid formation.

If you suffer from gout, tried to avoid foods which have a high content of purines such as: Anchovies, Asparagus, Baker’s Yeast, Bouillon, Brains, Brewer’s Yeast. Broth, Consommé, Dried Pulses, Fish Roe, Game, Goose

You should avoid high purine diet, mussels, herring, yeast, alcohol (because it interferes with uric acid), meat extracts, liver, salmon, trout, turkey, venison, lobster, crab.

If you avoid above mentioned diet and follow gout diet for gout treatment, then its fine too, but if you want to care more, than do not eat beans, pork, shad, spinach, ham, roe, rabbit.
